Murphy's Landing Community Development District
Murphy’s Landing Community Development District is a local, special-purpose government entity authorized by Chapter 190 of the Florida Statutes as amended and established on September 24, 2025 by the Hendry County Board of County Commissioners, Ordinance No. 2025-10 as an alternative method of planning, acquiring, operating and maintaining community-wide improvements in planned communities.
Murphy’s Landing CDD is located entirely within Hendry County, Florida and covers approximately 187.65 acres of land. The site is generally located at the intersection of SR 80 and Townsend Canal Grade south of the Caloosahatchee River.
The services provided by the District are described in Chapter 190, Florida Statutes. The District is presently expected to finance, construct, install, and maintain improvements and facilities to benefit the lands within the District in multiple phases to be constructed over an estimated time period from 2026 to 2029.

Murphy’s Landing Community Development District is a local, special-purpose government entity authorized by Chapter 190 of the Florida Statutes as amended and established on September 24, 2025 by the Hendry County Board of County Commissioners, Ordinance No. 2025-10as an alternative method of planning, acquiring, operating and maintaining community-wide improvements in planned communities.
In addition to the general powers provided for in Chapter 190, Florida Statutes, the District shall have the power to plan, establish, acquire, construct or reconstruct, enlarge or extend, equip, operate, and maintain additional systems and facilities for: (1) parks and facilities for indoor and outdoor recreational, cultural, and educational uses; (2) security, including but not limited to, guardhouses, fences and gates, electronic intrusion-detection systems, and patrol cars, when authorized by proper governmental agencies except that the District may not exercise any police power, but may contract with appropriate local genera;-purpose governmental agencies for an increased level of services within the District boundaries.
